Brandy de Jerez
70 cl of Gran Duque de Alba Brandy Solera Gran Reserva, IGP Brandy de Jerez, from the town of Jerez de la Frontera, Cadiz, Andalusia. ABV: 40%.
Brandy de Jerez of excellent quality, aged in American oak casks. 12 years barrel ageing time.
Perfect for sitting around the table and enjoying conversation after a meal.
Tasting notes: Its mahogany colour with golden tones and the complexity of its aromas with ample balsamic nuances indicate its long and appropriate ageing in wood. On the palate it is soft and full with toasted and vanilla notes and a long and pleasant finish.
Raw materials: Excellent very young and fruity white wines fermented at low temperature, slightly leesy, even preserving some lees in suspension at the time of distillation.
Ageing: Distillation in stills at 65º to obtain excellent holandas. The extraordinary characteristics of this brandy are the result of the meticulous selection of the raw material from which it is made. It begins with the selection of excellent white palomino and airen wines, an early distillation and the method are decisive for the final quality of the distillates (holandas). The holandas are aged during 12 years in American oak casks that have been previously filled with Oloroso wine, and following the traditional system of Soleras and Criaderas, entering the system through the 10th criadera and passing through these to the solera, rigorously controlling the volume of sacas so that the ageing of the brandy remains constant.
Food pairing: Brandy Duque de Alba is an excellent choice to accompany cured cheeses, dark chocolate, nuts, nougat or with spicy flavours such as those typical of Mexican cuisine.
